Abstract:
Human beings have experienced two scientific revolutions, represented by Newtonian mechanics and quantum mechanics. The former supported the technological revolution of mechanization and electrification; The quantum mechanics born at the beginning of the last century revealed the peculiar laws of microscopic particles, especially subatomic-scale electrons, beyond our daily experience and classical mechanics, which caused the semiconductor information technology revolution and the second quantum technology revolution such as quantum computing and quantum communication that is currently taking place. At the nanoscale, the external effects such as force, electricity, magnetism, light, and heat felt by matter are at the same energy scale as the local field of matter composed of charge, molecular orbital, electronic structure and electron spin state, and there is a strong coupling between the outer field and the local field of matter. This multi-field coupling at the nanoscale makes the force-electrical-magnetic-optical-thermal coupling properties that only very few materials have at the macroscopic scale widely present in general nanostructured systems, that is, nanomaterials have intrinsic intelligent properties. This opens up new avenues for new functional devices and efficient energy conversion.
Just as water gives birth to life, when water meets nanomaterials, water molecules, ions in water, protons and local fields of nanomaterials will inevitably be coupled, resulting in new intelligent properties and energy conversion methods. In fact, the crystallization of natural intelligence --- the brain, which is a complex system composed of nanomaterials in the water environment, which can not only sense, regulate, and metabolize, but also produce advanced intelligent properties such as consciousness.
Here is a combination of our nearly 20 years of research work, 1) to describe the rich functional characteristics of force-electric-magnetic-optical-thermal coupling of nanomaterials and the latest progress; 2) Introduce the multi-field coupling effect of solid-liquid interface that occurs when nanomaterials are exposed to water, especially the hydrovoltaic effect of aquatic electricity and the latest developments; 3) Combined with the sustainable development problems faced by human beings, put forward the basic scientific problems of three levels of water energy, water ecology and water intelligence.
