Personal Profile:
Liu Zhi, Associate Researcher and Master's Supervisor, has been selected for the National BoXin Program for Postdoctoral Innovative Talents, Jiangsu Province ZhuoBo Program (Category A), and the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. He currently presides over projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Young Scientist Fund (Category C) and the Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation Young Scientist Fund (Category C), and has won multiple awards including Best Poster Awards at international conferences.
Focused on innovative research in cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields—flexible electronics, mechanics, and bionics—he has delved deeply into 3D-structured electronic skin. He has published over ten high-level SCI papers, with representative work appearing as the first author in Science. This study proposed a bioinspired 3D-architected electronic skin, which was selected as a featured image on both the Sciencejournal’s official website and the current issue’s table of contents. The work has been reported by dozens of authoritative media outlets, including the NSFC, Xinhua News Agency, and People’s Daily. It was included in ESI Highly Cited Papers and Hot Papers, featured in authoritative journals such as PNASand Device, and praised as a significant advancement in electronic skin technologyand enabling electronic skin to possess sensing capabilities previously unattainable—among other accolades.
Currently, his primary research direction focuses on developing high-performance electronic skin devices and systems using multidisciplinary cross-theory, heterogeneous 3D-architected design, and high-industrial-compatibility technical routes. The goal is to apply these systems to tactile perception in humanoid robots/embodied intelligence and other related fields.
