Personal Profile:
Siying Zhu , female, PhD in Engineering. Recipient of the UK Government’s Turing Scheme, her main research focuses on metallic materials and the mechanical behavior of grain boundaries. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 2012 and 2019, respectively. In 2022, she visited and conducted research at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden. Funded by the joint scholarship of the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the University of Manchester, she received her PhD from the University of Manchester (UK) in 2023. In 2024, she joined Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) as a Distinguished Associate Researcher. She has published papers in journals such as Acta Materialia and Materials & Design. She presides over the China Scholarship Council’s Program for Studying Abroad under the High-Level University Construction Initiative and has participated in two projects funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) of the UK.
